The number of students in the district are 4,303:
Kensington: Boys 213, Girls 216, Total 429
Southwark, 681, Northern Liberties, 727 were the only districts outside the city with more students. The Lombard Street Colored School had 511 students. Kensington, Moyamensing and the Lombard Street Colored School were the only districts with more girls then boys in school.
Infant schools are in the preparation for children under 5 years old.

For teachers’ salaries –two male and three female teachers $2,264.00
For books, maps and stationary $ 106.37
For slates and slate pencils $ 45.00
Fuel – for wood and coal $ 127.16
Supplies – for sundry small bills paid by the Secretary $ 100.00
Premiums – amount thereof given to the children for encouragement $ 118.10
Smiths’ and carpenters’ work $ 117.46
Cleaning and whitewashing $ 21.00
Water rent and plumbers’ work $ 81.80
Total $2,980.89
